HOW IT HAPPENED
Before fans could even get settled into their seats, Oswego was out and running. They had a serious chance right away. Kyla Sustad received a pass from Luna Catano-Matip and with a strong right foot in the lower left corner the Lakers took an early lead. A goal at 3:24 for the Lakers put them up 1-0 in the blink of an eye. It was Sustad's 4th goal of the season.

Paytyn Crane would help the Lakers keep this lead by picking up a huge save in the 19th minute. A long strike from St. Lawrence Senior Kaitlyn Barton would be on goal but Crane would catch it and keep the lead for Oswego.

Going into half, the Sustad goal held for the Lakers, and they were up 1-0. Oswego played good defense and kept scoring opportunities limited for the Saints for the whole first half.

St. Lawrence was on offense early in the second half and off a deflection, the direction of a shot changed quickly and found the bottom left of the net. Although Oswego played good defense, a little luck came for the Saints, and they tied it up at 1.

It was evident that both teams were going full force trying to break this tie. In the 76th minute, the Saints had the ball on their side and Brooke Habinowski took a long shot from the right side. After a few bounces, the ball found the back of the net and the Saints grabbed a 2-1 lead.

In the final ten minutes, Sustad, Cingranelli, and Key tried to knot this one up for the Lakers with shots on goal. Oswego ultimately fell to the Saints at home, 2-1.
