HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half started with Marywood taking the kickoff, but Oswego quickly gained possession and pushed the ball into their offensive zone, though they were unable to get a shot off initially. Both teams exchanged possession evenly, with strong defensive play preventing any clear scoring chances. Marywood earned several opportunities from free kicks and shots on goal, but goalkeeper Kyle Rose made key saves to keep the score level. Oswego finally threatened the net about 15 minutes in with a shot that struck the left post, followed by a blocked attempt from a free kick. Both teams continued to battle back and forth, creating a fast-paced and intense game. Despite several near misses and multiple scoring opportunities for both sides, the half ended scoreless, 0-0, with Rose and the Lakers' defense holding strong.

The Lakers came out of halftime with strong momentum, immediately controlling possession. Just three minutes in, Oswego earned their first corner kick of the game, which was expertly played to the center where Scout McCumiskey tapped it in, assisted by Vladimir Lavrynenko and Simon Bastone, giving the Lakers a 1-0 lead. Oswego kept the pressure on, moving the ball efficiently and creating multiple scoring opportunities. Five minutes later, Cerixey Lindsay sprinted down the field on a fast break, beating the goalkeeper one-on-one to score Oswego's second goal. The Lakers extended their lead to 3-0 after Jason Wuytack converted a penalty kick following a foul in the box by the Marywood goalkeeper, who received a yellow card. Controlling possession for the remainder of the half, Oswego limited the Pacers' chances while maintaining energy and teamwork across the field. Even as Marywood rotated in fresh players, the Lakers' defense held strong, and Oswego ran out the clock to secure a 3-0 victory.
