Lakers Score in the Final Seconds to Tie Elmira

ELMIRA, NY - The Lakers march into Elmira to face off against the Soaring Eagles in their first away game of the season.

BASICS
Oswego 1 (0-1-2, 0-0 SUNYAC)
Elmira 1 (1-1-1, 0-0 Empire 8)
Elmira Campus Field | Elmira, NY

HOW IT HAPPENED
To start the game each side was aggressive on both sides of the ball and it looked even as can be in the first little bit of action. The excellent goalkeeping by both squads kept this game squared at 0 for the first 41 minutes.
The stalemate was finally broken in the 42nd minute. Elmira's Daniel Brown would break through the Laker defense and deliver a ball to his fellow teammate, Hernan Arenas. After Elmira's goal, Oswego wouldn't be able to create any magic in the last couple minutes and after 45, it was 1-0 in favor of Elmira.

Time continued to tick away and the horn was close to buzzing. If the Lakers wanted to tie this one up they were going to have to do it sooner rather than later.

It wasn't until the final 10 seconds we saw a serious chance for Oswego. A goal kick with just 10 seconds left was awarded to the Lakers after Elmira couldn't keep the ball inbounds. Goalie Kyle Rose sent a bomb down the field and TJ Tanner had a perfect touch right in front of a sprinting Tajay Ellis. Ellis had 1 defender in front of him, and he put him on skates to get past him. Ellis would finish the job with 4 seconds left of the game clock. Oswego tied it up in the most unbelievable way.

Oswego with a buzzer beater goal would walk out of Elmira with a tie, 1-1, on the scoreboard.

WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego comes back to the shores of Oneida Lake and meets Rochester on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets sitting at 1-2-1 look to pick up a huge road win to get back on the right track. Start time for the game is scheduled for 7:00pm.
