Oswego, NY. - The SUNY Oswego Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams showed out today, both defeating the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks in their first meet after returning from their training trip.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Men's Meet
The Roberts Wesleyan "A" relay secured a victory in the Men's 200 Medley Relay with a finishing time of 1:39.42. They narrowly defeated the Oswego State "A" relay team, who took second place with a time of 1:40.25. Oswego also claimed the third and fourth positions, showcasing their depth in the event.
Oswego's Jake Sarnowski, Ryan Murphy, and Antonio Medina earned a majority of the points in the Men's 1000 Yard Freestyle by finishing first, second, and third respectively. Medina finished the race without his goggles, as they fell off around the 400 yard mark.
Oswego State swimmers took the top two spots in the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle, with Antonio Medina winning the event in a season-best time of 1:49.05. He was followed by teammates Duncan Smith in second, and Ryan Murphy in fourth
Raphael Weber from Roberts Wesleyan won the Men's 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 56.03. He was followed closely by Jayden Hernandez and Ethan Calhoun from Oswego State, who secured second and third place respectively.
Nathan Ratta Vine led an Oswego State sweep of the top three spots in the Men's 100 Yard Breaststroke, winning with a time of 1:01.35. He was followed by teammates Manav Sindhi and Peter Jennings.
Mitchell Stevens won the Men's 200 Yard Butterfly with a season-best time of 2:03.43. Jake Sarnowski and Nick Celentano finished in third and fourth respectively.
Sam Waddell, Nick Derick, and Duncan Smith took second through fourth in the Men's 50 Yard Freestyle for the Lakers. Then after the diving break the three did the same in the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle.
Fin Dolaway finished first in both 1-meter and 3-meter diving with respective scores of 141.60 and 141.65.
In the Men's 200 Yard Backstroke, Jayden Hernandez, Ethan Calhoun, and Mitchell Stevens finished in second, third, and fourth place respectively.
Nathan Ratta Vine and Manav Sindhi finished in first and second place in the Men's 200 Yard IM, with Peter Jenning taking fourth.
The Lakers built up enough of a lead that they were able to exhibition the remainder of their events, and went home victorious by a score of 153-132.

Women's Meet:
In the Women's 200 Yard Medley Relay, Oswego State dominated by taking the top two spots, with their "A" relay recording a time of 2:01.18.
Bella McDonald won the Women's 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 11:45.58. Oswego State claimed the top three spots, with Emily Lotito and Emily Seldin finishing second and third.
Jayna Laferriere won the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle with a season-best time of 1:59.29. Allison Priestly finished fourth for the Lakers.
Izzy Dague won the Women's 100 Yard Backstroke in 1:05.35, leading a sweep of the top three spots for the Lakers. She was followed by teammates Sophia Panetta (1:10.73) and Maura Waite (1:12.21).
Gabby Janeski won the Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:16.12. She was followed by teammate Willow Gaines in second.
Joscelyn Coniski won the Women's 200 Yard Butterfly with a personal-best time of 2:23.75. The Lakers swept the top three positions with Anna Baker and Abby Hinman taking second and third, respectively.
The Lakers followed suit in the Women's 50 Yard Freestyle with Aurora Jarvie taking first (26.17). Katie Burch and Allison Priestly finished second and third respectively.
Amber Burke Finished third overall for Women's 1-meter Diving with a score of 158.40.
Jayna Laferriere took first place in the Women's 100 Yard Freestyle, with a personal best time of 54.89.
Similarly to the Men's team, the Oswego Women's team built up enough of a lead that they were able to exhibition the remainder of their events, and went home victorious by a score of 164-114.

The Lakers will be back in action next Saturday, January 24th, where they are set to travel to Cortland to take on the reigning SUNYAC/AMCC champions in the Cortland Red Dragons.
