How it happened
The Lakers set the tone early and never looked back, erupting for five goals in the opening period to seize full control of the contest. Oswego scored on five of its first-period chances, showcasing depth, speed, and offensive precision against the Soaring Eagles.

Colin Vassallo opened the scoring at 5:31 of the first period, finishing a play set up by Ryan Burke to put Oswego on the board. Just over four minutes later, Adam Grenier doubled the lead with an even-strength tally off feeds from Matt McQuade and Josh Simpson. Burke added what proved to be the game-winning goal at 12:23, converting a chance created by Vassallo and Justin Ryan.

The Lakers weren't finished. Brett Fudger found the back of the net at 16:57 for his first goal of the season, and Ryan capped the explosive frame with a goal at 18:15 as Oswego carried a commanding 5–0 lead into the first intermission.

Elmira briefly slowed Oswego's momentum with a goal midway through the second period, but the Lakers responded quickly. Connor Gatto restored the five-goal cushion at 12:19 of the second, finishing a setup from Jesse Horacek to make it 6–1 heading into the final 20 minutes.
The third period featured tighter play and special team's action. Elmira scored once on the power play, but Oswego's defensive structure and goaltending held firm down the stretch to secure the four-goal victory.

Michael Manzi earned the win in net for the Lakers, turning aside 34 shots over 60 minutes. Offensively, Ryan Burke led Oswego with a goal and an assist, while Vassallo, Ryan, Simpson, and McQuade each recorded multi-point performances as the Lakers finished with six goals from six different scorers.
