SUNYAC Field Hockey Tournament Semi-Final Preview (Nov. 6th - Oswego at Salisbury, hosted by Oneonta)

SUNYAC WOMEN'S FIELD HOCKEY TOURNAMENT SECOND ROUND
#4 OSWEGO LAKERS AT #1 SALISBURY SEAGULLS

Friday, November 6th, 2026 – 12:00 p.m.
All College Field | Oneonta, NY

The Matchup… The Fourth-seeded Oswego State Lakers head on the road to face off against the top-seeded Salisbury Seagulls in the semifinals of the SUNYAC Tournament, hosted by Oneonta.

The Lakers and Seagulls have only played twice in their history since Salisbury joined the SUNYAC as an associate member beginning in Fall of 2025. The Seagulls hold a 2-0 advantage over Oswego all time, winning one matchup at home, and one on the road. This matchup marks the first neutral-site matchup between the two schools in their history, as the SUNYAC Tournament is being held in Oneonta.

The Last Matchup… The Lakers fell in a close contest this past matchup against the Seagulls, falling at Laker Turf 1-0. Despite facing 33 shots and 24 shots on goal, the Laker defense held strong, only surrendering one goal just over 10 minutes into the first quarter. Goalkeeper Sam Krautheim, along with the Laker defense, held strong, marking the only team in the conference to hold the Gulls under 7 goals.

Both teams at a glance… With a record of 6-11 (1-3 SUNYAC), the Lakers earned the fourth seed in this season's SUNYAC Tournament. The Lakers started the season off hot, earning three straight wins, but a tough stretch to end September and the beginning of October cooled the momentum. Wins against Morrisville and Manhattanville highlighted the month of October for Oswego, as they look to take one against a stout opponent in Salisbury.

Ranked 8th in NPI, the Salisbury Seagulls boast a 13-3 record, and rank as the top team in Region III (according to NPI). Their record includes a 4-2 mark against ranked opponents, winners of four straight heading into the tournament. The Gulls are known for their offense, which has scored 50 goals in 16 games. Salisbury is also 5-1 on the road this season, where they will attempt to continue that heading up to Oneonta this Friday.
