BUFFALO, NY. - The SUNY Oswego Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams traveled to Buffalo for the final day of the SUNYAC-Allegheny Mountain Conference Championships.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Women's Meet:
Bella McDonald took 5th in the 1650 yard freestyle, with
Emily Seldin taking 7th.
Kaitlin Wheeler additionally took 14th.
In the 200 Yard Backstroke,
Izzy Dague broke the school record, recording a time of 2:06.30, finishing in 2nd. Additionally,
Maura Waite and
Sophia Panetta finished in 11th and 15th respectively.
Jayna Laferriere shattered her record from last year in the Women's 100 Yard Freestyle, recording a time of 52.05, and taking home gold.
Aurora Jarvie,
Katie Burch, and
Allie Priestley, took 6th, 8th, and 12th as well.
In the 200 yard breaststroke,
Emily Lotito finished 3rd. Additionally,
Anna Baker finished in 6th, with
Kaitlin Wheeler and
Willow Gaines taking 12th and 14th place respectively.
In the 200 yard fly,
Joscelyn Coniski finished in 3rd place.
Gabby Janeski and
Abby Hinman took 7th and 8th, rounding out the individual events for the Lakers.
In the 400 yard freestyle relay, the Lakers "A" relay of
Izzy Dague,
Aurora Jarvie,
Bella McDonald, and
Jayna Laferriere finished second, closing out the meet with another set of silverware.
Jayna Laferriere was named the SUNYAC Female Swimmer of the Meet, rounding out the weekend with three gold medals in individual events, as well as multiple podium finishes in relays.
The Lakers finished the meet in 3rd place overall.
Men's Meet:
Ryan Liedka took 16th in the 1650 yard freestyle, with Jake Sarnowski finishing 12th.
In the 200 Yard Backstroke,
Jayden Hernandez finished in 7th, with
Ethan Calhoun taking 8th.
The Lakers had 4 swimmers compete in the A Final of the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle.
Sam Waddell took 2nd overall, with
Duncan Smith,
Antonio Medina, and
Ryan Murphy finishing 6th through 8th respectively. Additionally,
Nick Derrick took 11th, and
Nick Celentano finished 14th.
Nathan Ratta Vine took home Bronze in the Men's 200 Yard Breaststroke, as
Manav Sindhi finished in 7th. In the B Final,
Peter Jennings took 13th, with
Aidan Caples finishing in 15th.
In the 200 yard butterfly,
Mitchell Stevens, who was seeded 5th going into the event smashed a school record that was set way back in 1977. Stevens recorded a time of 1:54.97, taking 1st in the event.
In the 400 yard freestyle relay, the Lakers "A" relay of
Duncan Smith,
Sam Waddell,
Nathan Ratta Vine, and
Antonio Medina finished 3rd overall, ending the meet on a bang.
The Lakers finished the meet in 3rd place overall.

The Oswego State Lakers will head back to Oswego to reflect on another successful season.
