HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1:

The Lakers struck early and made it stand. After a scoreless opening frame, Oswego broke through in the second inning as Brendan Mair got things started with a single before Dylan Rosenberg worked a walk. With two on, Benjamin Silverman delivered the decisive swing of the game, ripping a two-RBI double to right field to give Oswego a 2-0 advantage.

That early cushion proved to be all the Lakers would need thanks to a dominant performance on the mound. Mason Sands set the tone, working 7.1 innings while allowing just one run on five hits. He navigated traffic throughout the afternoon and was backed by a defense that turned two key double plays to keep Oneonta off the board through the first seven innings.

Oswego continued to threaten offensively, collecting seven hits on the day, including multi-hit efforts from Mair and Hudson Meyer. Despite leaving runners on base, the Lakers consistently applied pressure and controlled the pace of the game.

Oneonta finally broke through in the eighth, capitalizing on a leadoff double and a wild pitch to cut the deficit to one. With the tying run on base, Oswego turned to Matthew Drillings out of the bullpen. The right-hander shut the door, retiring the final five batters he faced, including a clean ninth inning to seal the win.

Game 2:

Ryan Mayer started the game off taking four straight balls, and being walked to first. After advancing to second on a wild pitch, Mayer was advanced to third thanks to a nicely placed bunt from Daniel Winchester. Emil Sander would then hit a sacrifice-fly deep to left field, scoring Ryan Mayer and giving the Lakers an early 1-0 lead.

Jonah Shearer got the start on the mound for Oswego, and allowed just 2 hits and no runs through the first four innings.

In the top of the fifth, Ben Rollison singled to left field. Jordan Ynoa followed suit, advancing Rollison to second. Ryan Mayer then recorded an RBI double deep to left field, scoring both Rollison. Daniel Winchester then hit a sac-fly to score Ynoa, improving Oswego's lead to 3-0.

Still in the fifth, Emil Sander was walked. An RBI-single from Brendan Mair scored Ryan Mayer making it 4-0. Immediately after that, Benjamin Silverman recorded an RBI-single of his own, scoring Emil Sander, and making it 5-0 Oswego in the top of the fifth.

Oneonta would get three runs back in the top of the seventh, closing in on the Lakers' lead and making it 5-3.

In the top of the eight, the Lakers found themselves with the bases loaded, with all three runners being walked. Thomas Harrington would then hit a 3-RBI double deep to left field, regaining the Lakers 5-run lead. Daniel Winchester would tack on one more with an RBI-single to make it 9-3.

Neither team would score for the remainder of this one, as the Lakers walked away with a clean sweep of the Red Dragons today.
