Oswego, N.Y. - A relentless offensive attack and balanced scoring powered Oswego to a dominant 17–4 victory over Buffalo State on Wednesday, extending the Lakers' unbeaten run in conference play.
The Basics
Oswego: 17 (8-4, 5-0 SUNYAC)
Buffalo State: 4 (8-3, 3-1 SUNYAC)
Location: Oswego, N.Y. | Laker Turf Stadium
How it Happened
Oswego wasted little time setting the tone, erupting for five first-quarter goals and never looking back. After an early equalizer from Buffalo State, the Lakers responded with four straight tallies to seize full control, a lead they would only continue to build throughout the afternoon.
Leading the charge was
Cassidy Croce, who delivered a game-high five goals on nine shots, consistently finding openings in the Bengals' defense.
Alexis Hill added another standout performance with four goals and two assists, factoring into six of Oswego's 17 scores.
The Lakers' offensive depth proved overwhelming.
Addison Costello netted three goals, while
Noelle Smith contributed a well-rounded effort with two goals and two assists.
Abigail Dicks (one goal, two assists) and
Aubri Greene (one goal, one assist) also played key roles in facilitating the attack, helping Oswego tally eight assists on the day.
Oswego's efficiency on special teams further widened the gap. The Lakers capitalized on multiple player-up opportunities, scoring several man-up goals and converting three of six free-position chances. Their crisp ball movement and opportunistic finishing kept Buffalo State's defense under constant pressure.
Defensively, Oswego limited Buffalo State to just 15 shots and four total goals, with strong stretches of possession control and clearing success (12-for-14) helping to stifle any momentum from the visitors. Goalkeepers
Alana Iacovissi and
Sophia Diaz combined for eight saves in the win
