The Student-Athlete Affairs Program strives to offer a variety of programs and support focusing on the emotional and physical well-being of individuals, as well as personal growth in many areas.
PED 295, Life Skills Course for First-Year Student-Athletes (FirstChoice Program): PED 295 is a three-credit, undergraduate elective course offered to first-year student-athletes. The course addresses current topics that first-year students typically confront such as time management, health concerns, presentation skills, nutrition and other issues. The course includes appearances by guest speakers who address a number of these issues.
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee: This group cultivates leadership potential and personal skills while providing student-athletes with a voice on campus and NCAA matters. For much more information, visit the SAAC home page.
Guest Speakers Program: A variety of well-known and inspirational speakers address student-athletes on important issues and current topics.
