Trailing 2-1 midway through the second period, the 10th-ranked Oswego State hockey team reeled off the game's final five goals as the Lakers defeated visiting Cortland by the score of 6-2 on Friday, Jan. 21, at Romney Field House.

After Kevin Watters (Pittsford) put the Red Dragons up 2-1 with a shorthanded goal at 9:48 of the period, Gary Bowman (Evansville, WY) and Kevin Tracey (Mississauga, ONT) each scored for the hosts. Those goals sent the Lakers into the second intermission carrying a 3-2 lead.

In the third, Tony DiNunzio (King City, ONT) scored 1:58 in before Bowman netted his second of the game to make it 5-2. Defenseman Bryan Gent (Milton, ONT) capped the scoring netting his third of the year at the 14:19 mark.

Senior captain Andy Rozak (Mississauga, ONT) had a huge night for the Lakers, dishing out five assists. He now has 103 in his career.

Jocelyn DuBord (LaChenaie, QUE) opened the scoring for Oswego State before Jason Perry (Plattsburgh) countered for the Red Dragons tying the game at one.

In goal for Oswego State, Ryan Scott (Williamsville) made 31 saves, while Cortland goalie Matt Meacham finished with 46.

The Lakers return action on Friday, Jan. 28, hosting conference opponent Potsdam at 7 p.m.
