Ithaca College pitcher Tom O'Connor (Weedsport) tossed a complete game to lead the Bombers to a 9-2 victory over the Oswego State baseball team on Thursday, April 28, at the South Athletic Complex.

Things looked good for the Lakers (13-12) early as Tom Farrell (Oswego) doubled in Nick Marzullo (Cicero) to tie the game at one after the opening inning.

In the third, the hosts took a 2-1 lead as Anthony Coromato (Utica) crossed the plate on an Ithaca error.

That was all O'Connor would allow as the Bomber senior allowed only four more hits the rest of the way. He finished with eight strikeouts and allowed just one earned run.

Ithaca (17-11-2) tied the game the top of the fifth and then took the lead for good in the sixth with another run. Ithaca kept the offense going in the seventh as Ben McBride (Ridgefield, CT) hit a home run to left field.

Coromato and Farrell each had two hits for the Lakers.

McBride paced the Bomber attack with three hits and three runs batted in.

The Lakers will play their final SUNY Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday, April 30, hosting New Paltz at noon.
