Laker offense leads team to win over Potsdam

The Oswego State women's lacrosse team scored a season-high 15 goals in defeating Potsdam 15-4 on Tuesday afternoon at Laker Field in Oswego. Tricia McNeilly had three goals and three assists to lead the Oswego State offense.

Meghan Dooney, Nicole McHale, and Ashley Anderson each scored twice for Oswego State as the Lakers improved their record to 2-6 on the season and 1-1 in the SUNYAC.

Oswego State scored the first four goals of the contest but Potsdam rallied to score the next two goals and get back into the game midway through the first half. The Lakers responded with six straight goals to close the first half and took a commanding 10-2 lead after the first 30 minutes.

Alisha Sarubbi, Meredith Lerch, and Colleen Ventura also scored for the Lakers. Goaltender Shannon O'Brien played in the second half and made six saves while allowing just two goals.

Potsdam's Alisha Schaad scored three goals and Kelsey Shoen had the other goal for the Bears. Potsdam fell to 3-6 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

The Oswego State women will host Brockport Friday at 4 p.m.
