The Oswego State women's lacrosse team lost to visiting Oneonta 10-8 in overtime on Saturday. The Lakers held a 7-0 lead at halftime but the Red Dragons rallied for the win.
Oswego State dominated the first half of play as Alisha Sarubbi, Meredith Lerch, and Ashley Anderson each scored twice. Sarubbi added another goal in the second half but it was the Lakers' only tally over the game's final 36 minutes. Nicole McHale also scored for the Lakers. Lauren Burrows had eight saves and Ashley Perkins made four saves for Oswego State.
Kristen O'Leary and Erin Maybeck each scored three times and combined to score the last six goals of the game for the Red Dragons. Maybeck tallied both of the overtime goals for Oneonta in the second of the two overtime periods. The Red Dragons took advantage of 10 Oswego State turnovers in the second half. Goalie Eileen O'Toole had four saves.
Oswego State is now 2-3 in the SUNYAC and 3-8 overall. The Red Dragons improved to 4-1 in the SUNYAC and 6-7 overall.
