The Oswego State women's lacrosse team lost 11-9 at Buffalo State on Saturday afternoon. Oswego State fell out of contention for a SUNYAC playoff berth with the loss and the Lakers now stand at 3-10 overall and wrapped up conference play with a 2-5 record. The Lakers will conclude the 2006 season on Tuesday when they host St. John Fisher.
Buffalo State scored five consecutive goals in the first half to stretch its lead from 3-2 to 8-2 but had to withstand a Laker comeback effort. Oswego State scored six of the next seven goals and trailed 9-8 with 16:23 remaining, but couldn't get the equalizer.
Tricia McNeilly had three goals and two assists for Oswego State and Michelle Mendell had two goals and an assist. Meredith Lerch scored twice and Laura Dorsey and Jessica Maltese added the other Laker goals. Ashley Perkins made seven saves for Oswego State.
