The Oswego State women's basketball team defeated Oneonta 71-62 on Tuesday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium in Oswego in a SUNYAC quarterfinal playoff game.

The Lakers were led by Samantha Driscoll with 18 points and Kelly Mraz with 16. Lacey Kimpland added 11 points for Oswego State. Jessica Tremblay had seven points and seven rebounds.

The Lakers limited Oneonta to just 35.8 percent shooting in the contest and blocked six shots.

Oneonta's leading scorer was Melissa Donohue with 15 points. Sara Chrystie had 14, Shannon Weir added 11, and Kerri Swails scored 10.

Oswego State will play Brockport on Friday in a semifinal game, at 6 p.m. at Cortland. The top-seeded Cortland Red Dragons will play against New Paltz in the other semifinal.

The Lakers are 18-7 overall this season and Oneonta fell to 14-12.
