The Oswego State women's lacrosse team scored 11 times in the second half and defeated Potsdam 18-5 on Wednesday at Potsdam.
Potsdam started strong and held a 3-2 lead midway through the first half, but Oswego State scored the next 11 goals in the contest to turn that deficit into a 10-goal advantage. Included in that run were six goals in the first five minutes of the second half.
Rachel Ventresca had six goals and an assist in the game to lead the Laker offense, and Tricia McNeilly had a goal and five assists. Ashley Andersen also had a big day with three goals and two assists. Andrea Poor had three goals and Nicole McHale scored twice for Oswego State. Also scoring for the Lakers were Meghan Dooney, Susannah Taylor, and Jessica Maltese.
Laker goalie Shannon O'Brien kept the Bears at bay throughout the game with 11 saves on 18 shots.
Oswego State is now 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the SUNYAC. The Lakers play at Brockport on Saturday at 1 p.m.
