Lakers swept at Plattsburgh

The Oswego State baseball team lost 3-0 and 5-1 in a pair of games at Plattsburgh on Saturday. The Lakers finished their SUNYAC schedule with a 7-7 record and will await other results to determine whether or not they qualify for the conference playoffs. Oswego State is 13-10 overall.

Plattsburgh 3, Oswego State 0

Matt Kelley pitched a complete game four-hit shutout for the Cardinals in the first game of the doubleheader. Tom Farrell, Brett Shaffer, Justin White, and Steve Guckemus had the four hits for the Lakers.

Plattsburgh scored a single run in the bottom of the second off of Oswego State starter Nate DeSantis and chased DeSantis with two more runs in the fifth. Adam Harendza finished the game in relief.

Mike Lucatra's RBI single in the sixth brought home Tom Farrell with Oswego State's only run of the second game. Nick Marzullo, Zach Owen, Farrell, and Justin Horbal also had hits for Oswego State.

Plattsburgh starter Matt Dahlin allowed five hits in the game, with no walks and one strikeout. Justin White pitched for the Lakers and took the loss, allowing five earned runs.
