The Oswego State women's soccer team registered the game-tying goal midway into the second half to force overtime, but host University of Scranton tallied the winning goal with two minutes remaining in the second overtime to come away with a 2-1 triumph over the Lakers in a night contest on Friday, Oct. 31.
The Royals (11-7)scored the game's opening goal on a header in the 26th minute of the first half before Oswego tied the score on an unassisted goal from senior midfielder Kelly Spagnoli (Sag Harbor/Eastport) in the 63rd minute. After a scoreless ten minutes in the first of two sudden-death overtime periods, Scranton registered the game winner on a header in the eighth minute of the second session.
Sophomore goalie Toby Klein (Westbury/W.T. Clarke) tallied a game-high 10 saves for the Lakers, who finish the season with a 5-12-1 record.
