The Oswego State women's basketball team rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit and went on to an 82-72 overtime win over SUNYIT on Wednesday night in Utica.
Laker senior guard Samantha Driscoll scored 27 points in the game, making seven 3-pointers along the way, to surpass 1,000 points for her career. She is the eighth player in Oswego State women's basketball history to reach that career milestone, including teammate Sarah Lombard, who achieved 1,000 points earlier this season.
Lombard added 20 points for the Lakers and Traci Bacon scored 16.
Oswego State trailed by as many as nine points in the first half and was behind 38-30 at halftime. The Lakers went on a 24-6 run early in the second half to built a nine-point advantage, but the Wildcats answered and forced overtime.
In the extra session, Oswego State outscored SUNYIT 15-5, including 13 free throws.
The Lakers, who are now 12-10 overall and 7-7 in the SUNYAC, have qualified for the conference playoffs. They will conclude the regular season this weekend with road games at Fredonia on Friday and at Buffalo State on Saturday.
