Lakers defeat Fredonia, 4-0, for fifth-straight win

OSWEGO – Junior goaltender Tim Potter (Bakersfield, CA) recorded his first shutout and fifth consecutive win at Oswego State while senior forward Ryan Ellis (Georgetown, ONT) registered a three-point night as the Lakers picked up their second shutout of the season in a 4-0 SUNYAC win over Fredonia State at the Campus Center Ice Arena on Friday, Jan. 30.

The Lakers (13-5-1, 7-2-1 SUNYAC) went 2-for-5 on the power play, including the game-winner from senior forward Brendan McLaughlin (Brampton, ONT), on the game's opening goal at 12:02 of the first period. Oswego State added two more goals in the second period on goals from sophomore forward Chris Laganiere (Owego) at 10:48 and Ellis at 16:52. Ellis assisted on Laganiere's goal and added another on the final goal of the game, scored by junior defenseman Tyler Lyon (Foxboro, ONT) at 11:46 of the third period.

Freshman forward Eric Selleck (Shanley, ONT) also registered a pair of assists on the final two Laker goals. Potter made 20 saves in the contest, and has yet to lose a game in a Laker uniform since joining the team in January as a transfer from Clarkson University.
