Senior attack
Rachel Ventresca (Syracuse/Henninger) compiled seven points on four goals and three assists, while freshman Rachel Raffa also tallied four goals to lead a group of six multi-goal scorers as Oswego State jumped out to a 15-4 first-half lead and never trailed throughout en route to a 22-10 victory over Hartwick College in a non-conference matchup at Hartwick.
Sophomore midfielder Bri Borrow (Oswego) and junior linemate Jessica Zenzel (Johnson City) scored three goals each, with Borrow adding an assists and compiling four draw controls, and freshman Kristen Darcy (East Syracuse/East Syracuse-Minoa) and junior Erin Robson each tallied a pair of goals as the Lakers (2-2) outshot the Hawks (0-5), 22-13, in the first half and 36-23 for the game. Raffa scored all three of her goals in the opening half, while Darcy, Robson, Ventresca, and Zenzel each scored twice in the same half.
Freshman Amanda Carlisle (Webster/Webster Schroeder), junior Andrea Musso (Auburn), and seniors Jackie Dougherty (Lindenhurst), and Colleen Ventura (LaFayette) tallied single scores, while freshman Nicole Nalle (Oswego) and senior Shannon O'Brien (Syracuse/West Genesee) split time in goal, with Nalle stopping five shots in the first half and O'Brien making two saves in the second.
The Lakers will travel to face Wells College in a 12 p.m. matchup on Saturday, March 28, before facing Clarkson University in the 4 p.m. home opener on March 31 on Laker Field.
