Oswego State extended its current winning streak to three games and have won eight of its last ten games with a non-conference doubleheader sweep of Cazenovia College on Wednesday, April 22 on Laker Baseball Diamond, holding on for a 5-4 win in the opener and posting a 11-0 shutout In the nightcap.

Marc Peterson (Geneseo) improved to 5-1 on the year with his fourth straight win and third complete-game triumph in game one, yielding eight hits, an earned run, and three walks, while striking out six batters in seven innings. Senior catcher
Dan Pecora (Oswego) batted 2-for-3 with two runs batted in, hitting a two-run single with one out in the second inning as the Lakers (16-10) scored three times in the inning, and added a run in the fourth to take a 5-2 lead.
The Wildcats (15-12) scored twice in the fifth inning to pull within a run, but the Oswego defense limited the opponent to one hit in the final two innings.
In the nightcap, the Lakers scored eight runs on seven hits in the third inning to break open a 2-0 game. Third baseman Pat O'Keefe (Bronx/Lehman) hit 2-for-3 in the game with a run scored and three RBI, and finished with a .571 batting average for both games (4-for-7) with a pair of runs scored.
Junior starter Andy Salvatore (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) threw a five-hitter for five innings with a walk and three strikeouts, while senior PJ Cowie (Rochester/Spencerport) pitched a one-hitter for the final two innings with two strikeouts.
The Lakers host regionally-ranked Ithaca College in a single nine-inning contest on Friday, April 24 at 4:00 p.m.
