Kristen Diglio's trey in the final minute of play helped the Oswego State women's basketball team seal a 62-56 victory against visiting Potsdam on Saturday afternoon. The win coupled with a loss by Buffalo State clinched the Lakers a berth in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament. Diglio paced Oswego State with 16 points to go along with six assists. The Lakers, who improved to 12-10 overall and 9-6 in the league, sit in fourth place in the SUNYAC standings, while the Bears fell to 7-15 overall and 6-9 in the conference.
Oswego State held a 31-23 halftime lead behind a sharp-shooting Kristen Diglio, who had 10 points in the stanza. Meagan Stover also chipped in seven points off the bench, as the Lakers' leading scorer Kayla Ryan sat out much of the frame in foul trouble. Oswego State trailed 21-23 with three minutes left in the half, but closed on a 10-0 run, jumpstarted by a Diglio three.
In the second half, the Bears took a brief 45-44 lead, but Oswego State proved to be too much. Every time Potsdam looked to make a run the Lakers answered. Potsdam cut the Laker lead to 56-53 with two minutes to play, but Diglio knocked down a clutch three on a dish from Kayla Ryan with 1:08 on the clock. Junior Traci Bacon sealed the Laker victory with two free throws.
Oswego State got great bench production, as the Laker reserves outscored the Bears 16-0. Oswego State pounded Potsdam on the offensive glass by a 14-6 margin, which led to a 16-8 advantage in second chance points.

Oswego State visits New Paltz on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. start as it looks to keep pace in the conference standings in an effort to gain home-court advantage for the first round of the SUNYAC playoffs.
