The Oswego State softball team was unable to wake up the bats in Wednesday's 7-1 and 18-0 losses to St. John Fisher at Laker Softball Field.  The Lakers mustered nine hits in both games, while the Cardinals hit six home runs in both games.  Oswego State, which is now 5-10, will host a pair of conference doubleheaders this upcoming weekend starting with a twinbill against Fredonia starting at 3 p.m.  St. John Fisher improved to 14-4 with the sweep.

After six innings in game one, the Cardinals held a slim 2-0 lead thanks to a Krista Robarge RBI-single in the second inning and a solo home run by Leanne Merchant.  However, St. John Fisher put together five hits in the top of the seventh to score five runs, which were capped off by a two-run homer from Robarge to put the visitors ahead 7-1.

Oswego State looked to be making a rally in its final at-bat when Dee Apps led off the frame with a solo home run.  The Lakers had two more runners on first and third later in the frame with two outs, but both runners were left stranded after a fielder's choice.

Sarah Thayer suffered the loss after giving up three runs on nine hits in 3.2 innings with two strikeouts, while Morgan Lavner allowed four runs on six hits in 3.1 innings.  Danielle Leone posted the complete-game win with one run on six hits.

The nightcap was a scoreless affair through two innings until the Cardinals put up five runs in the third and fourth innings, as the St. John Fisher hitters pounded out seven hits, including four home runs.  With a 10-0 lead heading into the fifth, the Cardinals added eight runs on seven hits and two errors to earn the five-inning win.

Jessica Palmitesso earned the loss with nine unearned runs on nine hits over 4.2 innings.  Lavner pitched 0.1 innings giving up three unearned runs on five hits.  Sarah Stefanon recorded the win, striking out five and giving up no runs on three hits.
