WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - A six-run, fourth inning helped the Oswego State baseball team (3-6) top Suffolk University (Mass.), 11-4, for its second straight win on their Spring Break trip to Florida.
Down 3-0, Oswego State took control of the game in the bottom half of the fourth inning.
Brian Hamilton (Fr., Liverpool, N.Y.) opened the scoring with a one-out double that drove in
John Rauseo (Fr., Mattituck, N.Y.) and
Andrew Lazzaro (Jr., Oswego, N.Y.).
Tyler Baker (So. Hannibal, N.Y.) then tied the game at 3 with a double of his own before
Mike Stark (Jr., Rochester, N.Y.) blasted the Lakers' third double of the inning to score
Scott Buniak (So., Clifton Park, N.Y.) and Baker.
Alex Jurczynski (Jr., Schenectady, N.Y.) closed out the scoring with a RBI single that brought across Stark.
David Mazzullo (Sr., Rochester, N.Y.) and Jurczynski each had singles in the three-run sixth inning and both scored on an error, pushing the Laker lead to 9-3.
The Lakers wrapped up their scoring when Baker drove in a run with a groundout and Stark hit a two-out home run in the seventh inning.
Stark finished with three hits to lead the offense, while
Jon Stevens (Jr., Chittenago, N.Y.) picked up the win on the mound after striking out five, walking just one and not allowing an earned run in seven innings of work.
Jon Silva (Jr., Mexico, N.Y.) faced just seven batters in the final two innings to close out the win.

On Thursday, Oswego State pounded out six straight hits with one out in the top of the ninth inning, scoring four runs and pulling in front of Rensselaer
Polytechnic Insitute (RPI) 7-4. The Lakers hung on for a 7-6 victory after turning a double play to end the game.
Alex Jurczynski led the offense with two singles early in the game and then a two-RBI double during the ninth inning rally.
