Men's Tennis vs. Keuka - (4/2/12) Gallery
OSWEGO, N.Y. - The Oswego State men's tennis team (1-3) won its spring season opener against Keuka College (0-2), 8-1, Monday afternoon. First, second, and third doubles put the team ahead right at the start after all three posted victories for the Lakers.
First doubles was a close, gritty match that went into a tiebreaker after being tied at 8-8. Brian Tosti and Max McCune fought back from being down for most of the set before winning the tiebreaker, 8-6, against Justin Fries and Christian Kessel.
Freshman Sam Moores recorded a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Christian Kessel at second singles in his debut match as a Laker. Down the lineup, junior Ben Schleider won 6-1, 6-0 over Chenchao Li, giving up the least amount of games in the set overall.
Oswego State will face Keystone College Wednesday afternoon at the Romney Tennis Courts at 3:30 PM.
