Comeback Falls Short in Men's Ice Hockey 3-2 loss at Elmira

Elmira, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's ice hockey team fell 3-2 to Elmira College, snapping their five-game winning streak. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 11-3-2 while the Soaring Eagles improve to 9-6 on the season.
 
Oswego fell behind early 3-0 heading into the first intermission, despite outshooting Elmira 16-9.
 
Matt Galati would put the Lakers on the board with a power-play goal at 4:19 in the second period for his team-leading 14th goal of the season. Alex Botten and Bobby Gertsakis were credited with assists on the goal. Less than a minute later, Kenny Neil would find the back of the net on another power-play to bring Oswego within one at 5:05 in the second period. Matt Galati assisted on the goal for his sixth multi-point game of the season.
 
The Lakers owned the shots column with a 44-26 advantage on the night but could not get a third goal past Elmira goalie Sal Magliocco.
 
Freshman goaltender Matt Zawadzki dropped his first career game and falls to 7-1-2 on the season.
 
The Lakers return to action at 7 p.m., on Friday for a SUNYAC game at Fredonia
