Oswego Struggles with Brockport on Saturday Morning

Winter Haven, Fla. - The Oswego State baseball team took a tough loss in the first game of a doubleheader today 19-4.  With the loss, the Lakers drop to 8-3 and 1-2 in conference.  The Eagles move to 9-3 and 2-1.

Oswego found themselves down 9-0 in the first as Brockport scored all nine runs with two outs.  Oswego was able to get on the board in the second with a John Rauseo single and steal, followed by a Scott Buniak RBI single.

Oswego would close the gap further in the third as Dan Saccocio and Eric Hamilton would single and be advanced on a Mike McMullen groundout.  Tim Smith would single to score both runners and then steal second.  A Rauseo single would then bring Smith home to move the score to 10-4.

Brockport would add runs in the fifth, seventh, and ninth to put the game out of reach for the Lakers.  Rauseo, Buniak, and Tyler Baker all went 2-for-3 for the Lakers offense on the day.

Oswego returns to action tonight as they take on Endicott College at 7:30 p.m. and finish its Florida trip on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. against UMass-Dartmouth.
