BOX SCOREOSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's tennis team had its three-match win streak snapped 6-3 by Elmira College on Wednesday afternoon at the Romney Indoor Tennis Courts. With the loss, Oswego drops to 6-5 on the season while the Soaring Eagles cap their season at 8-7.
On Wednesday,
Spencer Thorn and
John Stanford took a point apiece in singles action. Thorn played in the fifth slot, beating Scott Ferron 6-1, 6-1. Stanford earned his point at sixth singles, defeating Noel Statts easily 6-1 in the first game before holding Statts off 6-3 for the victory.
The Lakers got their final point at third doubles as
Max McCune and
Sam Carges teamed for a win. The senior duo cruised in the match, moving past Statts and Ferron 8-1.
Oswego will wrap up its 2013-14 campaign with a doubleheader against Keuka College starting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at home.
