RESULTSOSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's swimming and diving team began the new season with a 155-87 loss to Rochester Institute of Technology on Wednesday evening in Laker Pool. With the defeat, Oswego is 0-1 on the year while the Tigers move to 1-1.
Sophomore
Hannah Jensen was the first Laker to capture a top finish in 2015-16, taking the 50-yard free in 26.05, .38 faster than the next competitor. Next to grab first place was freshman
Samantha Synan, whose time of 1:01.25 was over a second quicker than RIT's runner-up.
The final top finish for Oswego came from the 200-yard free relay team with members of the group representing every class year. Senior
Emily Doe teamed with junior
Natalie Brophy, sophomore
Steph Noga and the aforementioned first-year Synan for a time of 1:47.70 and the first-place nod.
Oswego will return to the pool at searching for its first victory at 1 p.m. on Saturday when Oneonta comes to campus.
