ELIMRA, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's tennis team fell to Elmira College on the road Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the team goes to 3-3 on the year and 1-1 in the spring season. The Soaring Eagles go to .500 (2-2) on the season.
Oswego's first point was earned in a hard fought battle by
Alex McCarthy at first singles. The junior went to three sets, eventually defeating his opponent 6-3, 5-7, 7-5. The Lakers were able to pick up two more points at fifth and sixth singles as
Justin D'Antonio defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-0 and
Sam Moores won 7-5, 7-6 (7-3).
In doubles, Oswego was able to pick up another point at third. D'Antonio and Moores downed their Elmira foe 8-2.
Men's tennis will return to action at 4 p.m . on March 6, as it takes on St. John Fisher on the road.
