KEUKA, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's tennis team defeated Keuka College 8-1 on the road on Tuesday evening. With the win, the Lakers go to .500 (7-7) on the year. Keuka College moves to 1-9 on the season.
Oswego started the match winning all three of the doubles contests.
Ryan Korn and
John Stanford swept their Wolfpack opponent 8-0 at second. Not far behind them was third doubles (
Nick Retzkin and
Justin D'Antonio) who won 8-1 and first (
Alex McCarthy and
Jon Matros) which secured an 8-2 victory.
The winning attitude trickled over to singles play, as four of the six matches were 6-0, 6-0 Oswego victories. McCarthy at one, Korn at two, Stanford at three and Retzkin at five all swept their opponents without dropping a game.
Jon Matros recorded Oswego's final point winning by a score of 6-1, 6-0.
Men's tennis will look to make it two-straight seasons above .500 as the team goes to Utica College for a 3:30 p.m. match on Wednesday.
