Lakers Open April On the Road

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State athletic department prepares for another competitive weekend, as five teams are set to play into April.
The softball team will grab their gloves and hit the road for a conference double-header this weekend. The 3-5 Lakers draw Geneseo for a 3 p.m. start on Friday. The team's doubleheader against Brockport has been postponed and reschedule dates have yet to be determined.

The Oswego baseball program will participate in a three-game SUNYAC series when it travels to Saugerties, N.Y. to battle New Paltz at Cantine Memorial Field this upcoming weekend.  The first matchup will be played at 3 p.m. on Friday followed by a Saturday double-header beginning at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. At 13-5, the Lakers, who have remained a perfect 6-0 in conference play thus far, will look to add to their impressive five-game winning streak when it heads into New Paltz.

 After a recent, commanding 16-6 win over Elmira College, the men's lacrosse team look to build on its momentum when it visits Cazenovia College to face off against Alfred State University at 4 p.m. on Friday in a neutral-field contest.

Finally, women's lacrosse heads over to Fredonia for its third-consecutive conference matchup of the season at 4 p.m. on Friday. The 4-5 Lakers will look improve its record to .500 while also securing its first SUNYAC win.
