WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Oswego State wrestling team concluded the Budd Whitehill Tournament hosted by Lycoming College with two hard-fought losses. The Lakers fell 26-20 to Springfield College before being downed by Thiel College 21-18.

In the first meet of day two, Oswego found itself neck and neck with Springfield all the way to the final bout. Jacob Yankloski got the ball rolling with a 3-1 victory at 125 pounds. Tyler Silverthorn added six points as he won by fall at 3:57 in the 157-pound weight class. Troy Seymour and Daniel Smith continued their undefeated streaks, both winning by major decision. Oswego's final three points came at 174 pounds as Jeff Lombardi earned his first win of the tournament with a 12-5 decision over Springfield's Ryan Harty.

Seymour and Smith went on to finish the tournament with perfect records, defeating their Thiel opponents by fall. Seymour pinned the shoulders down in 1:35 only to be outshined by Smith who finished the match in 16 seconds. Sean Maloney earned the Lakers another four points win by a 12-3 major decision at 184 pounds. Silverthorn recorded Oswego's final three, winning by a 9-7 decision at 157 pounds.

Wrestling returns to action at 10 a.m. on Saturday as the team travels to the Rochester Institute of Technology for the ECWC Championshps.
