Day 1 Results

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Senior Michael Saavedra, junior Ashleigh Lacy, sophomore Aidan Harrington and freshman Faith Coyle each set new personal bests in opening day action at the State University of New York Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Men's Track & Field

• Harrington qualified for the finals in the 400-meter dash (50.67 seconds) in the fourth-fastest time in Oswego program history and a new personal best.
• Harrington also made the final in the 60-meter hurdles with his time of 9.66 seconds and finished twelfth in the 200-meter dash in 23.11 seconds.
• Saavedra set a new personal best with a toss of 12.91 meters (42' 4.25") to finish in ninth in the men's shot put.
• Oswego's team points came courtesy of the distance medley squad of Matthew Pietzak, Matthew Broadnax, Dominick Angradi and Andrew Deming who took sixth.

Women's Track & Field

• Lacy earned a spot in tomorrow's finals in the 60-meter dash (8.18 seconds) and returned to the qualifying rounds in the 200-meter dash to run a 26.61-second new personal best to make the Saturday final.
• Oswego will be represented in tomorrow's 800-meter run thanks to Coyle who shaved six seconds off her personal best to run 2:25.92.
• Senior Emily Blake earned eleventh in the women's 5,000-meter run in 20:26.22.
• In women's shot put, freshman Alandra Jones finished in eleventh with a throw of 12.81 meters (35' 5.75").
• The women's distance medley team of Gretchen Dowd, Blake, Rebecca Cropsey and Ellen Decker finished in seventh for Oswego's points on the day.
