Numerous Personal Bests at Brockport for T&F

BROCKPORT, N.Y.
– Multiple athletes from the Oswego State track & field programs set personal bests at the Brockport Multi Event led by senior Nathan Couse's second-place effort in the men's 5,000-meter run.

THE BASICS
  • Final Scores:  Oswego Men - 22 Points (13 of 15); Oswego Women - 8 Points (11 of 16)
  • Location:  Special Events and Recreation Center, Brockport, N.Y.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • For Couse, this is the fourth personal best he has set in 2022 with new marks already set in the 800-meter run, mile run and 3,000-meter run in January.
  • Aidan Harrington lowered two personal bests with a third in the 200-meter dash (23.16) and a fifth in the 400-meter dash (52.27) for 10 team points.
  • Also scoring for the men was sophomore Matthew Pietzak who came in just under his personal best in the mile at 4:42.76 while taking fifth.
  • Teammates Miguel Tineo (5:00.92), Henry Rose (5:03.14) and Dominick Angradi (5:09.59) also lowered their mile times to new bests.
  • Tineo returned later in the meet for a new best in the 800-meter run (2:18.14).
  • Alexander Kline beat his best mark in the shot put by over a foot with a toss of 10.63 meters (34' 10.5") while teammate Michael Saavedra finished twelfth of 42 at 12.29 meters.
  • Matthew Broadnax set a new personal best in the 200-meter dash in 24.32 seconds.
  • For the women, freshman Alandra Jones continues to impress with a new best of 11.60 meters and a fourth-place finish in the shot put.
  • Freshman Faith Coyle had a pair of top-10's with an eighth in the 400-meter dash in a new best of 1:04.55 and a tenth in the 3,000-meter run (11:28.26).
  • Like Coyle, Ashleigh Lacy scored a pair of top-10's on the afternoon with a new best in the 60-meter dash (8.19) for seventh and a ninth in the 200-meter dash in 27.61 seconds.
  • Ellen Decker dropped her time in the mile down to 5:54.26 as did Gretchen Dowd in the 400-meter dash at 1:08.95.
  • Also in field action, senior Abigail Conpropst crushed her old mark in the weight throw by over three feet with a toss of 34' 7.75" (10.56 meters).
  • Senior Emily Blake set her own new personal best in the mile at 6:02.39.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will head over to RIT on Friday for a 4 p.m. start time in the Tigers' meet.
