Multiple Lakers Finish First at NYS Champs

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Your SUNY Oswego men's wrestling team competed this Saturday at the New York State Collegiate Championship at Nassau Community College. The Lakers finished eighth out of twenty teams with 31 points.

Here are the highlights.

Charlie Grygas won his third straight NY State Open title at 174 lbs. with a decision (10-6) over Jackson Gray of Ithaca College.
Anthony Cascen finished fifth in the 197 lbs. open division with a win by a major decision over Finn Eskeland of NYU.
Michael Hade finished third in the Freshman/Sophomore 125 lbs. with a win over Ryan Farley of Alfred State.
Michael Santore finished first in the Freshman/sophomore 133 lbs. with a win by fall over Francisco Muriel of Ithaca College.
Gabe Goss finished first in the Freshman/Sophomore 141 lbs. with a sudden victory over Cameron Ice.
Wayne Earl finished fourth in the Freshman/Sophomore 141 lbs.
Tyler Rossini finished first in the Freshman/Sophomore 149 lbs. with a win over Dylan Zenion.
Payne Weinhauer finished sixth in the Freshman/Sophomore 149 lbs.
James Sturek finished fifth in the Freshman/Sophomore 174 lbs. with a win over George Racz of Alfred State.
Dustin Koskinen-Falls finished third in the Freshman/ Sophomore 197 lbs. with a win by decision over Trey Darmody-Latham of Ithaca College.
Kevin Arriaza finished fourth in the Freshman/ Sophomore 285 lbs.
