OSWEGO, NY- The Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams continued the 2023-2024 SUNYAC Championships. During day two finals,
Zachary Brown finished fourth overall in the 200 Individual Medley. In the 200 Freestyle Relay, the women's team placed fourth and the men's team finished fifth.

HOW IT HAPPENED
For the 500 Freestyle, Emily Lotito placed 12th at prelims which earned her a spot in the B-final. At finals she swam a 5:35.88 for 14th overall and three points.
The 200 Individual Medley prelims saw three female swimmers earn spots in the B-final. Aurora Jarvie placed 10th, Anna Baker 12th, and Maura Waite 15th. In finals, Baker finished in 12th (2:24.32, five points), Waite in 14th (2:24.70, three points), and Jarvie 15th (2:24.80, two points).
Brown finished fourth in the 200 Individual Medley prelims. In finals, he placed fourth again (15 points) with a time of 1:55.25.
Nathan Ratta Vine earned a spot in the B-final by finishing in 12th in prelims. Ratta Vine finished finals with a time of 2:00.29 in 14th place (three points).
In the 50 Freestyle,
Matthew Dambra placed sixth at prelims, good for a returning spot in the A-final. At night, he swam a 21.77 (eighth, 11 points).
The women saw three swimmers make finals for the 50 Freestyle. Jayna Laferriere placed seventh (A-final), McKenna Briggs 10th, and Alexia Lemus 13th (both B-final). In finals, Laferriere placed seventh (25.03, 12 points), Briggs finished 11th (25.80, six points), and Lemus placed 15th (26.23, two points).
The night concluded with the 200 Freestyle Relays. The team of Dambra,
Vincent Mullen, Ratta Vine, and Brown placed fifth for 28 points with a finishing time of 1:27.43. Jarvie, Briggs, Lemus, and Laferriere finished fourth with a time of 1:40.83. They earned 30 points in fourth place.
In women's one meter diving prelims, Serena Bardin placed 12th with a score of 314.30. Amber Burke placed 14th with a score of 251.75. After finals, Burke finished in 13th and Bardin in 15th overall.
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego State Swimming and Diving will return to the pool to continue their championship meet through February 24. Preliminary swims begin at 10 a.m. and finals begin at 5:30 p.m.
