OSWEGO, NY - Three Oswego State wrestlers named National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III Scholar All Americans.

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) proudly announces the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-America awards for Individual and Team recipients. This year, a remarkable total of 418 wrestlers from 100 institutions have achieved the status of Scholar All-American.
"Through their unwavering dedication, these athletes and teams showcase a commitment that extends beyond the mat and into the classroom. Congratulations to each of this year's recipients," shared Mike Moyer, NWCA Executive Director.
Laker sophomore
Tyler Rossini, an Adolescent Education major earned his second Scholar All American honor with a cumulative grade point average of 3.63 that included a 4.0 in the fall 2023 semester. Rossini compiled a 29-10 overall record this past season and won the SUNYAC, NYS and RIT titles and placed 7th at the Mideast Regional Championships.
Freshman
Gabe Goss majoring in Criminal Justice has a 3.26 cumulative grade point average and compiled a 28-11 record in his rookie campaign. Goss, an NCAA Championship qualifier was named the SUNYAC Rookie of the Year and won the NYS tournament and punched his ticket to the NCAAs with a second-place finish in the Mideast Regional.
Freshman
Landen Smith compiled a 3.3 cumulative grade point average as a Wellness Management major. Smith finished his first season as a Laker with a 7th place finish at the Mideast regional at 157 pounds.
To be recognized, a wrestler must have at least a 3.2 GPA and either place in the regional tournament or have at 66% or greater winning percentage in a season with at least 15 matches.
