Ithaca, NY – Oswego Lakers men's wrestling kicked off their season at the Ithaca Invitational on Friday. The Lakers will take part in this two-day double elimination tournament on Friday and Saturday this weekend.

How It Happened
Avery Canzano led the Lakers with back-to-back win to open his weekend. He defeated Joseph Menkello by tech fall and followed that up with a win over Joseph Baker 5-0. He will be in the semifinals of 184lbs tomorrow.
At 157lbs, Anthony Avitable earned a win over Matthew Myers by tech fall but fell to Dominick Lapler 3-0. He will be in the consolation round 4.
At 141lbs, Ben Burkhardt Fell to Elijah Farlas by tech fall and then Aiden Stuart also by tech fall.
At 174lbs, Christopher Coleman fell 6-1 to Ithaca and rebounded with a win over Caleb Ives 7-0. He then fell to Tyler Boelhower 7-4.
At 165lbs,
David Hammerle opened with a decision loss to Nate Spuhler 14-7. David bounced back with a win over Logan Bruce by major decision 12-4. He then fell to Isaiah Grant 11-7.
At 149lbs,
Donovan Rail suffered a defeat by tech fall in his first match but won 7-4 over Ryker Evans from Norwich. He will be in the consolation round 4.
At 285lbs,
Dustin Koskinen-Falls secured a win in his first match 14-3 by major decision. He then fell to an Ithaca opponent 11-1. He will be in the consolation round 2.
At 133lbs,
Frank Downing opened with a loss to Jay McDonnell of Ithaca 14-3. Downing then suffered another loss to Castleton by a score of 19-9.

Jacob Carioscia fell in his first match 5-0 to Carver Moyer of Norwich. He suffered a second loss of the day to Jack Callahan 13-0.
At 184lbs,
Jayden Kiell opened with a loss to Jake Long 8-5. He then bounced back with a win over Cole Shupp and medical forfeit to Joseph Baker. He will be in the consolation round 3.
At125lbs,
Juan Roque earned his first win of the year 12-3 over Cortland. He then fell to Ithaca 22-13 and found himself in the consolation round 2.
At 141lbs,
Michael Santore opened with two wins over Ivan Benitez and Neil Paulerico. Santore then fell to Isaac Qulles 7-4 and will be in the consolation round 4 tomorrow.
At 125lbs,
Nahjeed Abel suffered back-to-back losses to Ithaca and Penn College.
At 174lbs,
Patrick David started his day with two wins over Nick Piatti (10-1) and Jackson Campbell (14-1). He then fell to Colby Celuck of Castleton 3-0 and will be in the consolation round 4 tomorrow.
At 157lbs, Payne Weinhauser won his first match of the day 9-0. Payne then fell to Castleton and will be in consolation round 4 tomorrow.

Sam Watson fell in his first match to Cortland and battled closely in his second match but ultimately fell to Norwich.

Steven Ventricelli lost his first match with a tech fall. He then rallied to win back-to-back matches over Norwich and Penn College to find himself in the consolation round 4 tomorrow.
