BROCKPORT, NY – The Oswego Lakers men's and women's track and field teams took part in the SUNYAC Championships for the second day in a row at the SERC Center on the campus of SUNY Brockport.

DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS
In the women's mile,
Elena Gaffney finished third with a time of 5:16.71. This is massive improvement of her personal best time as well as the lowest time for a freshman in Oswego history! She is now third all-time in the women's mile! This also qualifies Elena for regionals.
Jack Hickey finished 8
th in the men's 400 with a time of 50.76.
Madiagne Niang finished 4
th in the men's 60 with a time of 6.97 qualifying him for regionals.
In the men's 800m, the Lakers took home the silver and bronze with Tom Mahunik finishing second (1:58.10) and
Jeffery Simmons finishing third (1:58.54). Both runners ran personal best times.
Noah Melita finished 6
th in the men's 3000 with a time of 9:08.52 which is a personal best!
The men's 4x400 team of Mars, Hickey, Niang, and Simmons finished 5
th with a time of 3:27.25.
Rhiannon Butchko finished 4
th in the women's high jump with a score of 1.52.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will now prepare for regionals that will take place on Friday March 7
th.
