6 baseball players land on the SUNYAC all conference teams

Baseball Lands 6 Players on SUNYAC All Conference Teams

OSWEGO, NY – The SUNYAC has released their all-conference teams for the 2024 Baseball Season. The Lakers earned 6 players on the first and second team.

Second Team All-Conference
Trey McGowan, Second base

Tishawn Featherstone, a senior from Port Jervis, NY, was named First Team All-Conference for his outstanding performance as a first baseman this season. Featherstone was a force at the plate, collecting 49 hits, including 9 doubles and 6 home runs, while driving in 39 runs and scoring 33 times. Featherstone hit for an average of .355 with .551SLG and .472 OBP. He showcased his versatility with 11 stolen bases and demonstrated strong plate discipline, drawing 21 walks. Defensively, he was a reliable presence at first base, recording 308 putouts. In 2024 and 2023 Tishawn was named second team all-conference. In 2022 he was named the SUNYAC Rookie of the Year.

Dylan Rosenberg, a sophomore from Roslyn Heights, NY, earned First Team All-Conference honors after an exceptional season at shortstop. Rosenberg was a consistent threat at the plate, racking up 57 hits, including 9 doubles, a triple, and 2 home runs, while driving in 33 runs and scoring 35 times. Dylan hit for an average of .354, slugging for .460 and an OBP of .424. His speed and aggressiveness on the bases were evident with 21 stolen bases, and he showed great patience at the plate, drawing 19 walks. Defensively, Rosenberg anchored the infield with 46 putouts and 87 assists, showcasing his range and reliability. This is the first time Dylan has been recognized by the conference.

Daniel Winchester, a sophomore from New City, NY, was named First Team All-Conference after a standout season at third base. Winchester led the team with 62 hits, including 10 doubles, a triple, and 4 home runs, while driving in 34 runs and scoring 38 times. Winchester hit for an average of .373 with .518 SLG and .443 OBP. A constant threat on the base paths, he swiped an impressive 29 bases and showed strong discipline with 20 walks. Defensively, he was a cornerstone at the hot corner, recording 41 putouts and 76 assists, displaying both range and a strong arm. This is the first time Daniel has been recognized by the conference.

Jacob Sanders was named First Team All-Conference after delivering a dominant season on the mound. In 11 appearances, Sanders posted an impressive 6-1 record and recorded a career-best 2.33 ERA. Over 65.2 innings pitched, he struck out 70 batters while issuing just 16 walks, showcasing exceptional control and command. His ability to consistently shut down opposing lineups made him one of the most reliable and effective pitchers in the conference. This is the second time Jacob has been recognized by the conference. In 2022 he was named second team all-conference in the SUNYAC.

Trey McGowan, a junior from Blue Point, NY, was named Second Team All-Conference following a strong season at second base. McGowan posted an impressive .415 batting average, collecting 44 hits, including 8 doubles, while driving in 20 runs and scoring 35 times. Trey's OBP was .544 and a slugging percentage of .491. He was a constant presence on the base paths with 17 stolen bases and demonstrated excellent plate discipline with 26 walks. Defensively, McGowan was steady in the middle infield, recording 41 putouts and 42 assists. This is the second time Trey has been recognized by the conference, in 2024 he was named first team all-conference.

Emil Sander, a junior from Skaneateles, NY, earned Second Team All-Conference honors for his strong performance in the outfield. Sander tallied 33 hits, including a double and 4 home runs, while driving in 19 runs and scoring 31 times. He was a constant threat on the bases, swiping 20 bags, and showed solid plate awareness with 14 walks. Defensively, Sander was a dependable presence in the outfield, recording 79 putouts and consistently making plays to back up the pitching staff. This is the first time Emil has been recognized by the conference.

The Lakers will head to Bridgewater State this weekend for the first round regionals on the NCAA Tournament. They will take on Concordia of Texas at 1:30 PM on Friday May 16th.
