Rochester, NY -The Lakers men's & women's indoor track & field teams hit the road this Saturday to Nazareth University for the Conference Challenge.

HIGHLIGHTS
Oswego opened the meet with solid relay efforts, as the women's 4x200m team of
Daiya Kowalski,
Sabrina Schmitt,
Alexie Tschanz, and
Alannah Edwards placed fifth overall in 1:54.74. On the men's side,
Darnell Johnson,
Cory Morton,
Soren Wolford, and
Peter Kraynak combined for a fourth-place finish in the 4x200m, crossing the line in 1:36.93.
In the women's 5000m,
Elena Gaffney led the Lakers with a fifth place showing, clocking in at 18:07.34, while
Kyra Pellegrino followed closely behind in eighth at 18:22.67. Distance standout
Noah Melita delivered one of the top performances of the day in the men's 5000m, posting a personal-best time of 15:37.32. The mark earned Melita a point for Oswego and moved him into eighth place on the program's all-time list.
The Lakers also made their mark in the sprint's events.
Soren Wolford finished 10th overall in the men's 60m open with a time of 7.42. In the women's triple jump,
Teagan Roy recorded a jump of 9.76 to place eighth.
Cory Morton led all competitors in the men's triple jump, capturing first place with a mark of 13.65 to headline Oswego's field performances.
Middle-distance races rounded out the day, as
Hannah Reichard placed eighth in the women's 800m with a time of 2:20.76. In the men's 800m, Jeffrey Simmons matched that placement, finishing eighth overall in 1:58.03.

The Lakers will now have a short break before their next event at Cornell on February 14
th.
