ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Oswego State swimming and diving teams opened the new year with a strong showing Sunday at the St. Petersburg Classic Relay Meet, competing against a deep field and delivering solid performances across a full slate of relay events.

How it Happened
The Lakers showcased their depth on both the women's and men's sides, earning multiple top five finishes. Oswego's women opened the meet with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as the quartet of
Willow Gaines,
Aurora Jarvie, Gabby Janeski, and
Jayna Laferriere touched in 1:47.00, setting the tone for the day.
On the men's side, Oswego's top finish came in the 3x100-yard medley relay, where the team of
Nathan Ratta Vine,
Manav Sindhi, and
Ethan Calhoun captured first place with a winning time of 2:49.94.
The women continued to post competitive times throughout the meet, including a third-place finish in the 3x100-yard butterfly relay led by
Joscelyn Coniski, Gabby Janeski, and
Anna Baker (3:17.71), as well as a fourth-place showing in the 500-yard freestyle relay. Oswego also placed third in the women's 3x100-yard breaststroke relay, with
Emily Lotito,
Aurora Jarvie, and Gabby Janeski combining for a 3:52.48 effort.
Oswego's men consistently challenged near the top of the standings, earning second place in the 3x100-yard butterfly relay (2:47.89) and the 3x100-yard breaststroke relay (3:10.36). The Lakers capped the meet with a strong second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing in 3:32.32.

th when they take on Berry College!
