OSWEGO, N.Y. – Charlie Grygas - of the wrestling team - has been named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 16.

On Sunday, Grygas won his second Empire Collegiate Wrestling Individual Title with four wins at the Conference Championship.  Grygas started the day in the 174-pound bracket with a win by fall (4:55) and an 18-3 technical-fall victory in the quarterfinals.  The Delanson native then recorded a 15-2 major decision in the semifinals and won a 3-1 decision for the individual title and 19.5 points for the team.

Back in 2020, Grygas won the conference individual title in the 165-pound weight class en route to earning All-America honors.

The wrestling team has plans to grapple this Saturday at 1 p.m. in a tri-match with Pitt-Bradford and Brockport at Brockport.
