Alfred's Carlo DiRisio (Prattsburgh) scored 2:13 into overtime to lift the Saxons to an 8-7 win over the Oswego State men's lacrosse team on Tuesday, April 26th at the South Athletic Complex.

The Lakers had forced overtime as John Masciopinto (Seldon) scored off of an assist from Adam Phelps (Jordan) with 29 seconds remaining in regulation.

The loss put Oswego State at 2-11 on the year, while Alfred closed out is season at 1-12.

Oswego State got off to a fast start, scoring the game's first three goals, but the Saxons used a strong second quarter scoring four times to go into the half holding a 5-4 advantage.

In the third, Oswego State was kept off the board, but in the fourth the Lakers rallied for three goals with Mike Strohm (Waterloo) and Steve Tronovitch (Binghamton) each scoring before Masciopinto's late tally forced overtime.

Oswego State goalie Al Simeone (Binghamton) finished with 10 saves, while Alfred goalie Drew Foster (Pittsford) collected 17.

The Lakers close out the regular season at home on Saturday, April 29, hosting SUNY Athletic Conference opponent Brockport at 2 p.m.
