Geneseo score five times with the man advantage on its way to a 13-7 win over the Oswego State men's lacrosse team on Wednesday, April 6, at the South Athletic Complex.

The loss put the Lakers 0-1 in the SUNY Athletic Conference and 2-5 overall, while the Blue Knights improved to 6-2 and 1-0 in the conference play.

Geneseo jumped out to an early 3-1 lead before Owahn Bazydlo (Syracuse) scored in a man-up situation to give the Blue Knights a three-goal lead at the end of the first period.

Just under two minutes into the second frame, Brian Orlowski (Hauppauge) made it 5-1 while the Lakers had a player in the penalty box. Orlowski added another man-up goal later in the second period as Geneseo raced out to an 8-1 lead.

Oswego State got right back into the game going on a 3-1 run the rest of the half as C.J. Williams (Rochester), Chris Mitchell (Oswego) and Steve Tronovitch (Binghamton) all scored making it a 9-4 game at the half.

The Lakers continue to climb back into the game in the third as Mitchell and Adam Phelps (Jordan) each scored making it 9-6 with 3:10 remaining in the quarter. The Blue Knights, however, got the next goal as Chris Kelley (Syracuse) added yet another man-up goal for Geneseo.

The Blue Knights didn't allow the hosts to get any closer in the fourth, outscoring the Lakers 3-1.

Geneseo finished the game scoring on five of its eight chances with the man advantage, while Oswego State scored twice on nine opportunities.

In goal for Oswego State, Al Simeone (Binghamton) finished with 16 saves.

Geneseo's Tim Garback (Syracuse) made nine saves.

The Lakers will be home again this Saturday, April 9, taking on the Rochester Institute of Technology at 2 p.m.
