The Oswego State men's lacrosse team turned in one of its most complete performances of the season in defeating Brockport 15-8 on Saturday afternoon in Oswego. The Lakers clinched the fourth and final SUNYAC playoff berth with the win and ended the regular season with a 3-3 conference record and 5-10 overall record. Oswego State will travel to top-seed Geneseo for a semifinal game Wednesday at 4 p.m.
The Lakers dominated the first half of play and built an 11-2 halftime lead. The Lakers won 10 of the game's first 14 face-offs and controlled possession throughout the first half. Oswego State scored seven consecutive goals to build a 10-1 lead.
Jeff Salisbury had three goals and two assists for Oswego State. He now has 100 career points for the Lakers, becoming the 27th player in the program's history to reach that milestone.
John Schumacher also had three goals on the afternoon while Rob Tramontozzi and Bill Walczak each had two goals and an assist. Mike Strohm, Chris Mitchell, Steve Tronovitch, Paul Palucci, and Dane Forsland scored the other Oswego State goals. Matt Pfister made 13 saves for Oswego State.
Brockport's Jordan Conrad had four goals and Anthony Ventresca had three assists. The Golden Eagles are 5-8 overall and finished SUNYAC play with a 1-5 conference record.
