The Oswego State men's lacrosse team lost 12-4 to Geneseo in the SUNYAC semifinals Wednesday afternoon at Geneseo. The Knights are currently ranked fifth nationally among Division III teams by the USILA poll.
Geneseo controlled play over the first three quarters. The Knights jumped out to a 3-0 first quarter lead, extended it to a 6-1 halftime advantage, and sealed the game with a 4-1 outburst in the third period for a 10-2 lead.
John Schumacher scored twice for Oswego State and Jeff Salisbury and Steve Tronovitch each had a goal and an assist. Matt Pfister made 15 saves for the Lakers, who finished their season with a 5-11 overall record and finished fourth in the conference with a 3-3 record.
Geneseo will host Cortland for the SUNYAC championship on Saturday, pitting a pair of top-10 teams for the conference title.
